My interest in photography began when I was a teenager in the early 2000's. My dad was an avid hobbyist back in the 1970's/80s. He even went as far as converting our laundry room into a dark room. He held onto some of his film cameras as well as several hardcover photography reference books. My early education in photography was through film photography and emulating the techniques in those books. As digital SLR cameras became more affordable, I quickly moved over to digital (it's possible I may shoot film again in the future).
I lost interest in photography sometime after I graduated college. It was a combination of the stress of becoming a financially independent adult and breaking equipment and not having the means to replace it. I recently decided to get back into photography, a decision largely influenced by my friend Jon who just picked up the hobby recently; I was extremely jealous of his excitement.
Since picking up a camera again, I've hit the ground running. I've also scavenged hard drives form dead laptop and have uncovered thousands of raw files from 2006-2020. When I was younger, I shot constantly, but rarely shared any of my work with anyone simply due to the fact that I didn't think it was any good.
I've missed a creative outlet from my life dearly. Here's to discovering old work and making new work. I really hope you enjoy.
